Here is another batch of photos taken on the Western Line beyond Ipswich. I find the line increasingly interesting, even if most trains on the line are to the two coal mines currently operating on the Darling Downs. This gallery also contains a quick detour further south. The frequency of trains on the Western Line allows me to pick and choose locations and to try to make the most of the weather conditions. This then allows a variety of photography to be tried, without having to worry too much about the risk of failure and not getting at least something for the trouble. And I really have to say that as a Tasmanian I have made my peace with wide open plains and indeed find them increasingly beautiful. Since these things are not likely to change in the near future, I expect that they will see me out there in future as well.
