In West by South West 1, I hinted that with domestic and work pressure, I'd only manage the one trip west of Goondiwindi. It was such a memorable trip though, that it wasn't long before I was planning another - although it took well over a year before the stars aligned and I could actually do it. And by then, there was th real risk that I'd leave it too late and another part of Quirky Rail would be gone. However, as it happened, I did manage another trip in late 2008. Just as well too, as the train has evidently passed into history in August 2009. RIP Dirranbandi service.
