I don't really regard myself as someone who looks to the past for inspiration. I'm not a nostalgia buff. I don't spend a lot of time talking about the good 'ole days. I don't always think that the way something was done in the past is always better than the way things are done now. No, all in all I prefer what's happening today and the prospect of what will happen tomorrow much more interesting. But even so, I have to admit that the steam locomotive, as good a representative of something from the past if ever there was one, has appeal that is impossible to ignore. So here you will find a few photos of some steamy beasts taken from the mid-1980s.
