Here's another selection of images covering Queensland Rail. This gallery includes Brisbane and then covers all points north. There's a stark contrast between the modern efficiency of the main lines and the almost rustic appeal of the branch line workings. Even today, that contrast exists, although the sub-tropical warmth of Queensland is not sufficient to keep the chill winds of commercialisation at bay forever.
